The Long Night

Released by Bards and Sages Publishing in their "Society of Misfit Stories" collection is a novella of mine set on a faraway planet that is about to begin a periodic five years of darkness called the long night.
A young priest in training is tasked with conducting the ceremony needed for a peaceful transition. During this ceremony, he must travel throughout the small city state to meet people from all walks of life, from thieves, to scholars, and even to the holy King and Queen themselves. He must collect and exchange symbolic tokens until at last he is allowed to light the beacon in the highest tower and welcome the long night ahead.

It was first published under the anthology Dreams are Stranger than Fiction. Now released on its own, Mirrorsight tells the story of a young woman in 15th century France adopted by the Romani. She is cursed with the ability to foresee someone's death if she should see their reflection.​.
